The trailer contained equipment for a wheelchair basketball program.

ROCHESTER, Minn. – One Rochester business has a lot to be thankful for.

Dr. Melanie Brennan, CEO of Video EA Therapeutics says their trailer that was stolen over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend has been found.  Dr. Brennan says the trailer was found Thursday morning in Dodge County and credits the KIMT story on the theft that aired Wednesday night for the recovery.

When it was stolen the trailer contained 7 sports wheelchairs, basketballs, and jerseys and the theft led to a wheelchair basketball program being suspended.  But Dr. Brennan says that equipment was inside the trailer when it was found.

Dr. Brennan says the people who took the trailer have not been located.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - The rest of the season for a wheelchair basketball program remains on hold after a trailer containing those supplies was taken from a Rochester non-profit over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Video EA Therapeutics shared shows the trailer being stolen last Thursday night around 9 p.m.

The company says the 2005 Haul Trailer has a license plate of 5565CBT.

CEO and Founder Melanie Brennan says the trailer had 7 sports wheelchairs, basketballs, and jerseys inside, all purchased with a grant.

Brennan says more than a dozen athletes have been taking part in the wheelchair basketball program and they can't play without the stolen equipment.

“Our participants in that program loved the sport. They really enjoy the social activity, physical activity all related to wheelchair basketball so it's not a good situation,” she shares.

Brennan adds the cost of chairs have gone up significantly since they were purchased and will take at least  8-10 weeks to replace.

She says the trailer will likely cost more to replace it than what the company will get from insurance.

“An extremely unfortunate thing because our program can't even happen without that equipment and some of our participants just don't have enough extra funds to buy their own sports chair.”

EA Therapeutics says police have identified the vehicle involved in the theft, but the trailer has still not been found.

They are working to replace the stolen items as soon as they can.
