Mike Shea was beside himself yesterday after his car was stolen from him that morning as it was warming up on his driveway, inside, a $2000 custom wheelchair for his 31-year-old daughter Sarah.

Sarah is non-verbal and cannot walk long distances, at the time, her holiday plans looked like they’d be cancelled. Thankfully, before the 6 p.m. news ended, our loyal viewers were inundating our phones looking to help.

In just over 24 hours a local pharmacy that watched the report was inside Mike and his wife Cindy’s home, measuring Sarah for a brand new custom wheelchair with a retail price of about $3,400, for free.

“I’m lost for words on what CHCH did and the gentleman that came here with this wheelchair I just don’t have words I just want to thank them from the bottom of my heart, Cindy and my daughter,” Shea said.

Suddenly, the holidays are back on schedule, “she can do the things that she wanted to… she wanted to go to the Simcoe lights, now we can take her there,” Shea said.

Thanks to the selflessness of our viewers. So far no word on where the stolen vehicle may be.
